苏州评弹艺人的行会组织,原名“光裕公所”建于公元一七七六年(乾隆四十一年),一九一二年更名“光裕社”,取“光前裕后”之寓意,几经修缮,清代光绪年间的门楼、成立一百五十周年的纪念石幢、展示评弹历史的碑廊均保存完好。
乾隆帝南巡曾召姑苏弹词名家王周士说书,后随驾进京御前弹唱,并赐七品顶带,被后人誉为“御前弹唱,七品书王”。而后发起创建“光裕公所”,供奉三皇祖师,制订行规行风,对外保护艺人权益,对内调整关系,提倡尊师礼让,吉庆佳节举行会书,切磋书艺,培植后学,提倡公益事业,设立裕才学校。
光裕社为提高评弹艺人的地位和评弹艺术的发展奠定了基础,是评弹界成立最早,参加演员最多,存在时间最长,对评弹艺术发展作用最大的行会组织。二百多年来光裕社名家辈出,流派纷呈,素有“千里书声出光裕” 之美誉。
The Guangyu Pingtan Society
The Guangyu Pingtan Society was established in 1776 and renamed in 1912. The name Guangyu means “you should remain the same before and after you have succeeded. The building have been refurbished several times, keeping intact its archway and its memorial tablets.
When Emperor Qianlong toured the south, the famous Pingtan player Wang Zhoushi made a performance for him and later went to the capital to give more performances for the emperor. Wang Zhoushi established the Pingtan society and laid down many rules and regulations for the Pingtan players.
The Guangyu Pingtan Society has made great contributions for the development of Pingtan performances and has won universal acclaim across the country.
